Blueberry Chia Jam

I am very excited about this recipe! I tried it today and it was so easy to make and so delicious!

Chia is a superfood rich in omega-3 fatty acids. The ALA (alpha linolenic fatty acid) that is in chia seeds is the only known essential omega-3 fatty acid that the body can’t produce on its own. Omega -3 is anti-inflammatory and its benefits cover many areas of health, from mental and behavioral health to  Osteoporosis, arthritis and even cancer.

Chia also provides the body with vitamins A, B, E and D and minerals such as calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, molybdenum, niacin, phosphorous, potassium, silicon, sodium, sulphur, thiamine and zinc. Chia seeds are also a wonderful source of protein and fiber. What a gem!!

Blueberry Chia Jam


  • Blueberries, 1 cup
  • Raw Honey, 2 tbsp
  • Chia Seeds, 2 tbsp
  • Water, 1/2 cup
  • Lemon Zets, 1/2 lemon


 1. Combine berries and water in a small saucepan. Smash using a potato masher, then incorporate the honey and lemon zest.


 2. Cook over medium heat until they begin to soften and bubble, stirring often. Turn the fire off, mix in the chia seeds and let rest for 5 minutes.

 3. Take the saucepan back to low heat and cook for another 5 minutes stirring constantly until  has thickened.


 4. Let cool. Transfer to a jar and refrigerate.
